Robert Adler, a native of Long Island, New York, graduated
with a degree in Business Administration in 1970 from Bowling Green State
University in Ohio.
Upon graduation, he joined his family in London, England where he was in the
life insurance business for four years. Upon his return to New York, Mr.
Adler became an Assistant Buyer for Abraham & Straus (div. of Federated
Department Stores).
In 1978, Mr. Adler moved to Houston, Texas where he lived for 21 years and
where he began his career in placement and recruiting. Until 1981 he was
employed by Diversified Human Resources Group, an employment agency, and
trained in financial placement and recruiting. He became the third person in
the company’s history to bill over $20,000 in one month. For the next eight
years, Mr. Adler operated as an independent executive search consultant in
the accounting and finance, legal, and mortgage banking/savings & loan
disciplines. During these early years, he served on the Ethics Committee of
the Houston Association of Personnel Consultants; earned the Certified
Personnel Consultant (CPC) designation from the National Association of
Personnel Consultants; and successfully identified the initial 21 executives
and middle managers for the J.I. Kislak Mortgage Corporation and
Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company (a joint venture in Miami, Florida).
Shortly after the S&L crash of 1989-1990, Mr. Adler successfully built a
financial search division for Management Recruiters of Houston. Within a
year, he was the top national financial search consultant for Management
Recruiters’ corporate-owned offices and the eleventh highest overall
producer nationally. He was among the Top 10 Account Executives in MRI’s
Southwest Division for 1996, 1997, and 1998. In 1997, he earned MRI’s
Certified Senior Account Manager (CSAM) designation, joining the select
other MRI elites.
IMr. Adler has successfully championed and closed over $5 million in
financial searches - while maintaining high standards and keeping his fees
and terms more competitive than most other firms.
Mr. Adler has also actively participated in human growth and development
courses and conferences with major learning organizations, including
Landmark Education Corporation, The New Warrior Weekend, and the Dale
Carnegie Institute.
